Privacy Policy

This policy explains what personal data Cover Culture collects, how and why we use it, who we share it with, and the rights you have. It applies to designers, customers, and anyone else who uses Cover Culture.

Cover Culture is operated by Uri Ashi, 7 Arba Aratzot Street, Tel Aviv 6248609, Israel. We are the data controller for the personal data described here. For any privacy question or to exercise your rights, contact us at privacy@coverculture.co.

1. The information we collect

Information you give us:

• Account details — your name, email address, password, and any pseudonym or shop name.
• Designer payout details — the payout account you provide and any tax information we need in order to pay you.
• Order details — for customers, your delivery address, the items you order, and your order history.
• Content you create — the cover files and images you upload, and the prompts or reference material you give our design and AI tools.
• Messages — anything you send us by email, through the site, or in support requests.

Information we collect automatically:

• Usage and device data — your IP address, browser and device type, and how you interact with the site.
• Cookies and similar technologies — see section 4.

We do not collect full payment-card details. Payments are handled by our payment processor, which collects and processes card data under its own terms.

If you sign in with another service — such as Google — that service shares a limited set of details with us, usually your name, email address, and profile picture, which we use to create or access your account. Your use of that sign-in service is governed by its own privacy policy.

2. How and why we use your information

We use your personal data to:

• provide Cover Culture — create and run your account, display and sell Books, produce and deliver orders, and pay designers. We do this to perform our contract with you.
• operate our design and AI tools — process the files, images, and prompts you provide so we can create covers. We do this to perform our contract with you.
• communicate with you — send order updates, service messages, and replies to your questions. We do this to perform our contract with you or in our legitimate interest in supporting you.
• prevent fraud and keep the platform safe — verify accounts, investigate misuse, and protect our users and ourselves. We do this in our legitimate interest in a safe, trustworthy service.
• meet legal duties — keep tax, accounting, and other records the law requires. We do this to comply with our legal obligations.
• market and advertise Cover Culture — send you messages where you have opted in or the law allows, show our ads to you and to similar audiences on other sites and apps (including through retargeting), and measure how our campaigns and influencer referrals perform. You can opt out of marketing at any time, and where advertising relies on cookies or similar technologies we use them only with your consent. We do this with your consent or in our legitimate interest.
• improve Cover Culture — understand how the site is used and make it better. We do this in our legitimate interest, and with your consent where analytics cookies require it.

3. Content you put into our design, AI, and image tools

When you use our AI features to generate or edit a cover, the images and prompts you provide are sent to the relevant third-party provider so the feature can work.

To produce or publish a Book, we also process your cover through an image-enhancement (upscaling) provider so that it meets print quality. This happens automatically when you order a Book with your cover or publish your cover, and is necessary to provide that service.

Each provider processes your content only to deliver the feature, under its own terms, and we choose providers that do not use your content to train their own models and that keep it only as long as needed to run the feature. Do not upload content you do not have the right to use.

4. Cookies and similar technologies

We use cookies and similar technologies (including tags, pixels, and SDKs) to run the site, remember your preferences, keep you signed in, understand how the site is used, and — where we advertise — to measure and target our ads, including retargeting and attribution. Essential cookies are always on; analytics and advertising cookies are used only where the law allows or where you have given consent. You can manage non-essential cookies through our cookie settings and your browser.

5. Who we share your information with

We share personal data only where needed, and with recipients bound to protect it:

• our print and fulfilment partner, to manufacture and ship physical Books;
• our payment processor, to take payments and pay designers;
• our AI and image-processing providers, to run the design, AI, and image-enhancement tools (see section 3);
• our hosting and IT providers, who run the platform on our behalf;
• analytics and communications providers, who help us operate and improve the service;
• advertising and measurement partners, where we advertise Cover Culture — to run and target our ads (including retargeting), place ads on other sites and apps, and measure how our campaigns and influencer referrals perform;
• professional advisers (such as accountants and lawyers), where needed;
• authorities or others, where we must to comply with the law, enforce our terms, or protect people's rights and safety.

If you make your designer profile or shop public, the information you choose to show there (such as your name or shop name and your covers) will be visible to others.

We do not sell your personal data for money. Some privacy laws treat sharing data for targeted or cross-context advertising as a "sale" or "sharing"; where they do, we honour your right to opt out (see section 8).

6. International transfers

Cover Culture is operated from Israel, which the European Commission and the UK have recognised as providing an adequate level of data protection — so transfers of personal data from the EEA and UK to us in Israel are permitted on that basis.

Where we use service providers in other countries that do not have an adequacy decision, we rely on appropriate safeguards, such as the EU and UK Standard Contractual Clauses, to protect your data. You can ask us for more detail using the contact above.

7. How long we keep your information

We keep personal data only as long as we need it for the purposes above. In practice:

• account and profile data — for as long as your account is open, and for a reasonable period afterwards;
• order, payment, and tax records — for the period our tax and accounting duties require (generally several years);
• content you upload — for as long as it is used on Cover Culture, with limited copies retained afterwards as described in our Terms;
• marketing data — until you opt out or the data is no longer current.

When we no longer need personal data, we delete or anonymise it.

8. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you have some or all of these rights over your personal data:

• to access a copy of it;
• to correct it if it is wrong;
• to delete it;
• to restrict or object to how we use it;
• to portability — to receive it in a portable format;
• to withdraw consent at any time, where we rely on consent; and
• to complain to your data-protection authority.

To exercise any of these, contact us at privacy@coverculture.co. We may need to verify your identity, and we will respond within the time the law requires. If you are in Israel, you have rights to review and correct your personal data under Israel's Privacy Protection Law. If you are in California or another US state with privacy rights, you may have rights to know, delete, and correct your data, to opt out of targeted advertising and any "sale" or "sharing" of your data, and not to be discriminated against for exercising them. 9. Security

We use reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your personal data. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to keep your information safe and to respond appropriately if something goes wrong.

10. Children

Cover Culture is not directed at children. You must be at least 18 to register as a designer, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has given us personal data, contact us and we will remove it.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. We will post the updated version here and, for material changes, let you know. The effective date at the top shows when it last changed.
